Reply with quote | #1 | MILKWEED...2003. Why did I write this book? Because I followed my own advice to young writers: Write what you care about. I've cared about the Holocaust and its victims all my life.

Reply with quote | #2 | i JUST read milkweed and i have to say, an EXCELLENT STORY.
lol, to tell the truth, i usually only read books about rapists and emos or drug addicts, but milkweed was totally different from what i'm used to. historical?? pffttt, so not my style.
BUT I LOVED IT!!!
not as much as stargirl, but it's in a totally different category!! Misha had such a friendly aura to him!!! i just fell in love with him the moment i started reading!!!
i like how you finished his story instead of just ending with the end of a war and a cliff hanger. after all, it was the story of misha, not the war
thanks mr. spinelli

Reply with quote | #3 | i heard a lot of jib-jab all my life of MILKWEED
i sampled it at barnes and noble but did not buy it
then, we cross paths again
i buy it
i read it
and a wonderful book it is
but
forever will i wonder
what ever happens to Uri?
and if for a reason i had to choose why he's my favorite
perhaps he reminds me of myself
the essence of realizing things no one else seems to conceive
i would have much more preferred to write a letter
more fantastic and interesting than a fourm post
but,
mr.spinelli,
i'm sure you'd be bombarded with letters
and your mailbox would explode
or implode
if you relinquished the address
back to the topic,
i'm sure you know what happens to him
the fiery red haired boy
something i wish that was
is a book names
"The Other Milkweed"
and its Uri's narration
of the lifestyle
thats what i imagined right when i finished it.

Reply with quote | #5 | Mr. Jerry Spinelli, I Do Not Ponder About Uri's Fate But Janina's. Does She Live? If It Is Obvious That She Died, Then I Did Not Catch It. I Know She Flew Into The Boxcar But That Would Not Kill Her, Right? Does She Ever See Misha Again? I Cried At The End Wondering Whether She Died Or Lived, Or If She Would Never Meet Misha Again. I Just Want A Happy Ending... I Can Not Express My Depression Wondering About Her Fate. Please Let Me Know What Happened To Janina... Thanks.

Reply with quote | #6 | I Also Forgot To Ask.. Did Misha, Like, Lose His Memory? Because His First Memory Is Running. I, Personally, Like The Mysteriousness Of Not Knowing But I Do Want To Know Why That Is His First Memory. Thanks Again!
