if you like those books you should read the devils arithmetic, it goes beyond the ghettos to the actual camps, or schindlers list the book. the movie is good, but its rated R and pretty gruesome. really gruesome. it had people in my class crying. this book was sad too. like when Mrs. Milgrom died. i was pretty sad, and the hung boy. __________________ Mar |

Reply with quote | #29 | Hi, Me and my sixth grade class have been discussing the book Milkweed for a class study. WE have had some wonderful discussion questions and I recommend that you teach this lesson... But a few of the questions have stumped us and our most debated question:
Is Uri really a Jew or did he just pose as a Jew to get close to others so he could turn them in. And was Uri just telling them to go to the trains and stuff so he would know their plans and it would be easier to get them, And was his shot just a near miss or a purposeful missed shot for Misha's life. |

Reply with quote | #30 | No, Uri was a Jew. As far as I know, he didn't even turn in fellow Jews. If he was, he wouldn't of helped Misha at the end. His red hair allowed him to be able to pretend he wasn't a Jew, thus infilterate the enemy a bit. He was proctecting himself by doing that.
His shot was to get Misha moving, not to kill him or harm him, though it did. Misha didn't understand this act and thought Uri was turning on him, but he wasnt. Uri cared for Misha, and in some cases, when you care for someone you have to hurt them to get them moving or to protect them from even more hurt.
I don't believe Uri ever said to go on the trains, if I remember correctly, he had said to stay away from the trains. __________________ My signature... |
